Alert! Disaster Information and Resources

Background:

In the wake of last Friday night’s devastating storms, we’re checking with our provider community to make sure you have what you need to serve your patients. While our hearts go out to anyone impacted in any way by this weekend’s catastrophic weather event, we are particularly concerned about our members and providers in impacted counties (i.e., FEMA-designated areas). A full listing of FEMA-designated areas can be found here.

If you are having trouble opening your practice, your local health department or urgent care, then local hospitals may be able to assist with your patients. A listing of nearby providers can be found using our online Provider Directory or by calling us at (844) 782-2721.

Emergency Rx Support

If your Medicaid member has lost their prescription due to recent tornadoes, emergency prescriptions are covered. You can use our Pharmacy Locator tool to find a nearby pharmacy or call 1-800-237-2767. Every member in the affected counties who filled a prescription in the last 30 days is receiving a text to notify them that we are approving emergency refills for anyone who lost their meds during the storm and where to go to get them.

Additionally, Molina has activated emergency services to allow the appropriate submission clarification code to override certain denials for members impacted by the tornadoes on April 26, 2024, in certain impacted counties. This override will allow pharmacy providers to override claims denials for early refill and accumulated quantity edits only – all other edits will remain in place, including prior authorization and eligibility.
