Children’s Medical Services (CMS) Plan Transition to Molina FAQs

Molina is proud the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) chose us to provide services to members and families for the Children’s Medical Services (CMS) Plan.

When will CMS Plan Transition to Molina?

  • CMS Plan transitions to Molina on October 1, 2026.

How Does this Affect Me/My Child?

  • Our goal is to make sure CMS Plan members, their parents, and families have a smooth transition and to have continuity of your / your child’s care.
  • You / your child will continue to get the services and support you need. You / your child will still:
    • Have a Care Manager
    • Have providers to meet your needs. We will also work with your providers during the Continuity of Care period.
    • Continue to get all your Medicaid services and drugs, plus new programs during the Continuity of Care period.

Will My / My Child’s Prescriptions Remain the Same?

You / your child will continue to get current Preferred Drug List (PDL) medications. You can use your / your child’s current pharmacy regardless of network status during the transition. After that, prescriptions must be filled at a participating network pharmacy.

  • Transitioning CMS Plan members: Continuity of Care period is up to May 29, 2027
  • New CMS Plan members: Continuity of Care period is up to 180 days from enrollment date

If you have questions about prescription coverage, talk to your Case Manager or Member Services.

When will I receive a new CMS Plan ID card and our member materials?

  • You should receive your CMS Plan welcome kit by October 1, 2026. The kit includes ID cards for each child in your home along with an enrollment letter and a helpful guide.

Why does our CMS Plan ID card say “Continue to see your current PCP.”?

  • While we have a large PCP network for CMS Plan, your PCP may not yet be in the network. We are adding PCPs to the network every day. So, while we work to add them to our network, we want you to keep seeing your PCP.As PCPs continue to join, new ID cards will be mailed. If you have questions, please call your CMS Plan Case Manager or Member Services at (800) 262-0750 (TTY: 711).

Will my Appointment of Representative Form, Letter of Guardianship, Power of Attorney (POA) transfer from Sunshine to Molina?

  • As part of the transition, Molina received copies of some CMS Plan’s members’ Authorized Representative Forms, Letters of Guardianship, and POAs. These will remain in effect until December 31, 2026. Your CMS Plan Case Manager and Member Services staff can help update your records in the meantime.
